Product Overview & Application Area
The ROJEK KTP 49 is a manually fed solid fuel boiler with a nominal output of 49 kW for warm water central heating systems. It is designed for log wood and suitable lignite; other suitable solid biomass can be used within the respective fuel approval. The output class is suitable for appropriately sized heating systems in larger residential buildings, commercially used buildings, and comparable applications.
The KTP 49 operates without a fan and without electronic boiler control. Therefore, no electrical connection is required for the actual boiler operation. Depending on the system concept, integration with pump circulation or in appropriately planned gravity-fed systems is possible.
Technology & Equipment
The two-stage combustion principle works with a high gasification proportion. Primary and secondary air can be regulated and adjusted to the fuel and the existing chimney draft. The combustion and filling chamber has a volume of 123.1 liters and accepts log wood up to 580 mm in length and up to 230 mm in diameter.
Several factory versions are available for different installation situations. The door hinge is standard on the right and can optionally be on the left. The flue gas outlet is vertical as standard and can be ordered horizontally as a factory option. In addition, a cleaning opening is possible with both vertical and horizontal flue gas outlet versions. The desired configuration must be specified at the time of ordering.
Everyday Benefits
The electricity-free boiler operation does not require a fan or electronic boiler control. The large combustion chamber, the adjustable combustion air, and the accessible combustion, ash, and cleaning areas support manageable manual heating operation. An integrated cooling loop enables the integration of a thermal safety device against overheating.
When operating with log wood, the KTP 49 achieves an efficiency of 89.3% and boiler class 5. With lignite, the efficiency is 87.8% and boiler class 4. For both main fuels, the boiler meets the Ecodesign requirements.
System Integration & Compatibility
The required chimney draft for the KTP 49 is between 19 and 26 Pa. The flue gas connection has a diameter of 220 mm. For proper system operation, a return water temperature of at least 55 °C must be maintained; a favorable operating range for the return is approximately 63 to 65 °C.
As a reference value, a buffer tank of at least 2,000 liters is specified. The actual sizing of the buffer tank, return temperature boosting, pumps, expansion vessel, and safety devices must match the heating load and system hydraulics. The KTP 49 can also be retrofitted with a suitable pellet burner system and thus expanded for automated pellet operation.

Installation
Installation, hydraulic connection, thermal safety devices, and flue gas connection must be carried out by qualified personnel in a workmanlike manner. The chimney must reliably provide the required draft range of 19 to 26 Pa. When planning the installation, the selected flue pipe routing, the door hinge side, and sufficient space for operation, cleaning, and maintenance must be taken into account.
Notes
The right-hand door hinge and the vertical flue gas outlet are the standard configuration. Left-hand door hinge, horizontal flue gas outlet, and a cleaning opening on the flue pipe are available as factory options. A permanently too low return water temperature as well as unsuitable or excessively moist fuel can promote the formation of condensate, tar, and corrosion.
