Powerful ion exchange process

The Aquas R2D2-72 uses the proven ion exchange process to effectively remove limescale from your tap water. Hardness-causing calcium and magnesium ions are exchanged for sodium ions, creating soft, easy-care water. This technology ensures consistently high softening performance and protects household appliances and pipes from limescale deposits.

Robust cabinet and large salt storage

The sturdy cabinet housing houses a glass-fiber-reinforced (GRP) pressure bottle filled with high-quality ion exchange resin. The integrated regeneration salt container holds up to 25 kg of salt and ensures long refill intervals. A removable lid allows quick access to the salt supply and facilitates maintenance and refilling.

Precise water quantity control

The factory-set BNT 1650 valve measures actual water consumption using an integrated counter. Once the preset volume is reached, regeneration only starts in the early morning hours at 2:00 a.m. This delayed, volume-controlled regeneration ensures uninterrupted water flow throughout the day, ensuring a supply of lime-free water around the clock.

Automatic regeneration process

Once the ion exchange resin is saturated, the system automatically runs through the regeneration cycle. A highly concentrated saline solution (sodium chloride) is passed over the resin to exchange the used calcium and magnesium ions and flush them into the wastewater. The resin is then fully recharged with sodium ions, ready for the next softening phase.

During regeneration, an integrated bypass takes over the water supply, ensuring untreated drinking water is available at all times. This 24/7 supply avoids bottlenecks and increases operating convenience.

High-quality exchange resin with a long service life

In the heart of the Aqmos R2D2-72 uses an ion exchange resin that is designed for over 20 years of reliable performance. Resin is filled with sodium ions (Na+). Resin Clean – Ion exchange resin cleaner and disinfectant

Resin Clean is a highly concentrated liquid cleaner specially formulated to clean and disinfect ion exchange resin during the regeneration cycle. This ensures long-term maintenance of ion exchange capacity, even in the presence of iron, manganese, or organic contaminants.

Application and functionality of Resin Clean

Add 10 ml of Resin Clean per liter of resin directly into the brine pipe.During the next regeneration, the concentrate dissolves iron, manganese and sludge deposits from the resin bed and reliably flushes them down the drain.

Composition and dosage

The product is based on phosphoric acid, an effective preservative (benzalkonium chloride), and demineralized water. The simple dosage ensures convenient and safe use.
