The R2D2-32 is a high-quality water softener specifically designed for households with up to five people. It offers a regeneration capacity of up to 3200 liters at a water hardness of 10°dH, thus ensuring soft, limescale-free water all year round.

The complete package includes not only the system but also the powerful ion exchange resin cleaner "Resin Clean", thus providing everything you need for consistently optimal performance and hygiene.

Functioning according to the ion exchange principle

At its core, the R2D2-32 exchanges the hardness-causing minerals calcium (Ca²⁺) and magnesium (Mg²⁺) for sodium ions (Na⁺). The water to be softened flows through a pressure vessel filled with high-quality ion exchange resin.

This process creates soft water, which protects household appliances, prevents deposits in pipes and provides a noticeably more pleasant feeling on skin and hair when showering.

Structure and key components

The unit is housed in a robust cabinet that accommodates both the pressure vessel and the salt container for up to 25 kg of regeneration salt. The removable lid allows for easy refilling.

A water volume-controlled valve (BNT 1650) measures consumption and triggers precise volume-controlled regenerations, which are factory-set to delayed night regeneration.

Automatic regeneration and easy operation

Once the resin's capacity is exhausted, the system automatically starts a regeneration cycle at 2:00 AM using concentrated saline solution. The contaminated calcium and magnesium ions are flushed out, while an integrated bypass continues to supply the house's plumbing with untreated water.

After completion of the regeneration cycle, the freshly charged resin is immediately ready for softening again – requiring virtually no maintenance and without interrupting the water supply.

Resin Clean – Ion exchange resin cleaner and disinfectant

Resin Clean is a highly concentrated liquid cleaner specifically developed to clean and disinfect ion exchange resin during the regeneration cycle. This ensures that the exchange capacity is maintained long-term, even in the presence of iron, manganese, or organic contaminants.

Application and Functionality of Resin Clean

Add 10 ml of Resin Clean directly into the brine pipe for every liter of resin. During the next regeneration, the concentrate dissolves iron, manganese, and sludge deposits from the resin bed and reliably flushes them down the drain.

Composition and dosage

The product is based on phosphoric acid, an effective preservative (benzalkonium chloride), and demineralized water. Its simple dosage ensures convenient and safe application.
